Appearance: Quiet and shy, likely to hang about the edges of the conversation watching and worrying. She takes excellent notes and meeting minutes, and prides herself on always being in touch with everyone and well-versed in the latest happenings, but she's not a gossip at all. She just likes collecting information. Prefers pale, drab colors, the better to blend into the background: Khaki, taupe, dove grey, and beige are staples, with the occasional exception for brown. She's always wearing something knitted, but the particular garment may change from day to day. Cardigans, long skirts, the occasional lace-collared blouse. Her pockets are full of lint and scraps of fabric, string and fuzz. Passionate about the advantages of hand-knit wool socks over any other kind. Knits constantly and compulsively, often offering the completed project to whomever is closest the moment it comes off the needles. She's often hesitant to speak or act, but it's not cowardice as much as a desire to do or say the right thing.

Supernatural Type?: Shy seems to appear suddenly in the middle of work meetings or motley discussions, having blended so completely into the shadows that no one realizes she's there. She reminds people of their elementary school teachers and grandmothers, with the way she seems to have eyes in the back of her head. She's remarkably aware of the minutiae of others' lives for someone so shy - she knows municipal politics, local gossip, and newspaper archives entirely too well. She knits so fast that people tease her about having extra pairs of hands; small children often burst into tears upon hearing this, and won't be consoled by the idea that it's just a joke.

Public Knowledge: She worked as a court reporter in her home town, but now she works for the local newspaper writing fluff pieces and covering town hall meetings. She doesn't have many friends in the traditional sense, but she will always wish you a happy birthday if she sees you during the right month, and ask about your kids or your golf swing when you meet in the Kroger over 99 cents/lb tomatoes. Catch her at the right moment, and the pair of socks she's just finished will wind up in your basket next to the milk.
